And so starts the old song by Buffalo Springfield "For What It's Worth". If you've been observing the political landscape at all lately you may feel like the opening line of the song. More and more I've been thinking about the direction our country is going and am dismayed at the loss of personal responsibility, freedoms and liberty. I came across a web site I'd like to share that may give us all a perspective of from whence we came...and how far we've strayed. Janine Turner started this web site. You may remember her from the TV show Northern Exposure. As it happens, this is my all time favorite TV show. I have all six seasons on DVD and never tire of watching them. Anyway, the web site is ConstitutingAmerica.org. Here Janine has set a schedule for reading the constitution and federalist papers with blogs and comments by constitutional scholars. Check out the site. About 2 years ago I picked up a copy of the Federalist papers. It's not the easiest read, but well worth the effort. Once you get into them it gets easier. ...What it is...is becoming clear.
