Who is John Galt?

Last summer while I was on a motorcycle ride I saw a guy wearing a T-shirt with "Who Is John Galt" written on the back. Somewhere in the back of my brain a bell went off. In the spring of 1966 I was in Ft. Stewart GA with a lot of time on my hands and was reading anything in sight. One of the books I read there was "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. When I was done I picked up Atlas Shrugged and was about a chapter into it when my hitch was up and I made my way home. (That's a whole story in itself.) I have no idea what happened to the book. Must have got lost on the way. I didn't remember it until this past December when I thought of the guy in the T-shirt and typed the phrase "Who Is John Galt" into google. Then it all came rushing back. "Who is John Galt" is the opening line in Atlas Shrugged, and I must say it's a great opening line. I bought the book, and was hooked right from the get go. I'm not quite done with it, but am amazed how something written in the 1950's reads like it could have been written today. Ayn's insights into the progressive movement are eye opening indeed. If you would like a peek behind the veil of social justice, I don't think you can do any better than Atlas Shrugged.
