Not what the folks along the Red river want to hear right now. As I looked out my window this morning, the Mississippi River is as high as I've seen it. There are places on the island across from my house where it looks like trees are growing in the river. There are huge amounts of debris coming down as well. Mostly logs, and I've see several whole trees, roots and all go floating by. The eagles I've been watching all spring have made themselves scarce and I'm wondering if the high water makes it hard for them to fish. Speaking of Eagles, have you noticed how prevalent they are. Back in the mid ninety's it was rare to even see them, and now they're everywhere. What a great comeback.
With baseball season right around the corner and with the new twins stadium waiting for the boys to head north, I finally broke down and got a high def TV. Now I will be able to legitimately yell at the bad calls the ump's make. I spent most of yesterday afternoon setting the thing up. Had to get the good sound system as well. I've been putting off watching Paul McCartney's New York City concert for just this. So once I got everything connected I powered it up and started channel surfing to check it out, and landed on a concert by Barbra Streisand. Now for no other reason than to watch good concerts I could see that this was a wise investment. I've been a fan since her Funny Girl stint on Broadway back in the early sixty's and I must say, Barbra never sounded so good. Her politics drives me nuts...but the lady can sing.
