Failure
I was up early this morning and on TV they were showing a replay of Canada winning the gold in curling. I don't know much about curling but have been watching more this time around than in years past. Canada's victory is all the more sweet when you know the back story, that being one of failure 8 years ago in Salt Lake City when they missed a shot that would have given them the gold, and instead took home the silver. It's wonderful to see these kind of success story's. So it would seem that failure is an integral ingredient in life, inspiring up to persist, to improve, to succeed. It would seem that Uncle Sam over the past couple of years has been interfering with the successful formula of allowing failure to happen. We've been hearing about companies being "too big to fail". I would argue that failure has to be a possibility if for nothing else than to inspire excellence. I was certainly inspired hearing a rousing rendition of "Oh Canada" following the gold metal win of the Canadian curling team.
